Mary Fox
1959 in Fredericton, New Brunswick
- resides in Ladysmith BC
Mary Fox moved with her family to British Columbia in 1966. She
first encountered clay in grade 8 art class in 1973 in Victoria
BC and knew very quickly this was to be her life’s work and
pleasure. By age 19, Mary was a full time potter, creating both
functional and purely decorative works. Within five years, she had
expanded her repertoire from functional stoneware to include one-of-a-kind
decorative vessels and sculpture. Mary has worked as a professional
potter in Canada since 1979. Her innovative creations have established
her reputation as a dedicated and exacting craftsperson in her field.
Mary has a keen interest in developing original glaze effects for
her pieces. She has worked extensively with raku and sagger firings,
low-fire crawl glazes, porcelain and stoneware. She has exhibited
all over the world, including Canada, Italy, the US and Australia.

Elynne Chudnovsky
Elynne Chudnovsky received her art education from The Pennsylvania
Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia, Pa. Using traditional
tools and native hardwoods, Elynne's sculpture is a concrete expression
of the delight and awe familiar to those who spend time among horses.
"I've chosen wood to be my primary medium because, much like
a horse, it has an intrinsic beauty and a character of its own.
Although the beauty of wood may be somewhat hidden while in its
rough state, I know that with patience and attentiveness to the
qualities of each piece of wood I select, that same rough wood will
emerge as an equal partner in the creation of something beautiful
and unique."
