Sheri
Bakes
Sheri Bakes received a BFA
from the Emily Carr University in 1998 and began exhibiting with
the Bau-Xi Gallery in 2002. The base of her work is Rewach:
spirit, breath or wind. From this base, many layers are built
within a context of Canadian landscape. Kevin Chong wrote for the
Globe and Mail, "Her brooding wind-swept scenes highlight tensions
not only between the sky and land, but also between the physical
landscape and the world of the mind." Sheri Bakes exhibits
with the Bau-Xi Gallery in Vancouver and Toronto, in the Foster/White
Gallery in Seattle, and at the Cella Gallery in Los Angeles. Her
work is represented in collections across North America and in Europe,
and is held in collections including Toronto Dominion Bank, Emaar
Properties, Dubai, UAE, Enuciate Conferencing, Vancouver General
Hospital and St. Paul’s Hospital.

Lisa
Birke
resides in Vancouver BC
Lisa Birke is a practicing artist working primarily in painting,
drawing, and sculptural installation. Since graduating from Emily
Carr Institute of Art and Design (BFA 1999), Lisa has had public
and commercial solo exhibitions in Canada, the US, and the Netherlands.
Using black humour as a backdrop, her work is an eclectic mix of
mass media, pop culture, and kitsch imagery. It references art history
and makes social observations about consumerism, human impact on
the environment, biological manipulation, social stereotyping, and
loss of identity in the modern world. Lisa has been an arts educator
for seven years and has given numerous lectures on her work, travels
and creative process. Her work is exhibited in the Bau-Xi Galleries
in Vancouver and Toronto, and the View Art Gallery in Victoria BC.

Lori-ann
Latremouille
born in Vancouver BC - resides in Vancouver BC
Lori-ann Latremouille creates her captivating images by letting
her mind flow freely without inhibition or preconceived ideas. She
is self-taught and developed her stunning technique and visual philosophy
outside of any institutional influences. Latremouille's work is
not easily categorized. There is a quality that echoes the native
totem artifacts that stand not far from her home, the way her figures
magically morph into each other. Some viewers see more contemporary
influences like M.C. Escher, Pablo Picasso, or Henri Rousseau. "It
comes from the world of the fantastic and the alluring" says
Art Perry, critic for Vancouver's The Province. "It's all unreal
but totally believable." She is also an accomplished poet and
singer songwriter which explains the musical imagery often seen
in her work. Over the past 20 years her work has been exhibited
extensively in the US and Canada and hangs in many prominent private
and public collections. She has also exhibited in Europe. Her work
is found in BC, Alberta, Florida, Oregan, Switzerland and Washington.
