Shushan Egoyan

Armenians Shushan Egoyan and her husband met as art students in Egypt. Shushan remembers Cairo as a very international European city, though girls study privately with artists in their studios rather than at the Art School (she recalls there were always live models to draw from). After their move in the 1960's to Victoria, BC, they supported their art and family by opening a furniture and design store whre Shushan became the interior decorator, picturing rooms as canvases. Shushan is highly influenced by her surroundings, especially nature and atmosphere.
