Judith Currelly
born in Toronto, Ontario - resides in Northern BC and Yukon
Judith Currelly is exceptional. After studying at the Ontario College of Art and Design and the University of Victoria BC, she became a homesteader, an artist and a commercial bush pilot.
Her imagery is inspired by the stark vastness of Northern BC and the Yukon. Every aspect of her life is influenced by the land. Haunting images of man and animals co-exist in Currelly’s work, evoking feelings of primitive mysticism, ancient rituals and reverence. In "Northern Maps, Legend and Legacies" (2000), Currelly drew on her years as a commercial bush pilot in Northern BC and the Yukon to depict monumental landscapes from an aerial perspective. Throughout her career Currelly's spectacular oil paintings have demonstrated her reverence and passion for the lands and people of the far North. Currelly has a prestigious exhibition record spanning nearly four decades. Her work is included in numerous private, corporate and public collections including the Canada Council Art Bank and the Governor General’s Heritage Collection. She exhibits across Canada.

Eszter Burghardt

resides in Vancouver BC
Eszter Burghardt is a Canadian-Hungarian artist whose paintings are often inspired by her travels.
Since completing a BFA in 2000 from Emily Carr University she has exhibited internationally in the USA and is represented by the Bau-Xi Gallery in Canada. Burghardt relies on her emotional response to capture the essence of a place. She pays close attention to the effects of light, color and sound in her surrounding environment. Much of her work is based from memory and imagination. Travelling into the wilderness is where she finds the catalysts needed to paint these inspired works. Based on a trip to the Canadian Western Arctic, the exhibition “Tundra’s Tale” in 2008 was about her travels in the arctic tundra that summer. She exhibits at the Bau-Xi Gallery in Vancouver, in Toronto and in the US, and has been given two month-long artists residencies in Iceland (2009 and 2010).

Cori Creed
born in Vancouver - resides in Vancouver
Growing up near her grandparent’s farm, Cori Creed developed an immense respect for the earth around her. She has a great admiration for how land is cultivated for wine, often integrating the natural landscape of hills and valleys into her work, creating beautiful tapestries of nature full of texture, dramatic colors and warm light. Having admired the work of Wayne Thiebaud for years, Cori likes to use voluminous brush strokes and layering of paint. When asked to explain her extensive color palette, she notes that she focuses on a single ray of light or a few distinct blades of grass - illuminating these colors throughout her work, to make them larger and more apparent than the human eye naturally permits. Early influences of Van Gough are undeniably present in these works (From: Christina Maybaum). Creed has exhibited at the prestigeous Buschlen-Mowatt Gallery in Vancouver, the Caldwell Snyder Gallery in San Francisco and the Trajan Gallery in Carmel.
