| The
Community Arts Council of Greater Victoria received a BC 150 grant
in 2008 from the Assembly of BC Arts Councils to create a new website
featuring 150 significant BC women artists, past and present, to
celebrate the CACGV's 40th anniversary and BC's 150th birthday.
We began with women artists from the Greater Victoria region and
continue to add artists from the entire province of BC. This
is a long-term, ongoing project. We thank the Art Gallery of Greater
Victoria, the Royal BC Museum, BC Archives and all others who have
supported this project.

The Community Arts Council of Greater Victoria is a member-based
umbrella organization whose mandate is to provide advocacy through
leadership, partnership and community involvement, as well as to
increase and broaden public awareness and opportunities in the arts
and cultural activities in the Greater Victoria region.
